In 2009, we set up the subsidiary NUAC HB together with LFV.
In 2010, the company’s organisation was built up and the groundwork laid so the company can take over the responsebility for the operation of the three ATCCs in Stockholm, Malmö and Copenhagen and deliver en route services in the Danish-Swedish airspace. The Danish-Swedish FAB is one of the largest in Europe. We have thus made great strides in our efforts to realise our part of the EU SES programme and, consequently, the objective of harmonising and improving the efficiency of ATM in European airspace. Together with LFV, we are at the forefront of the European companies.
> Download map of DK/SE FAB The co-ownership of NUAC makes Naviair well-equipped to meet future requirements and expectations in our industry. At the same time, this cooperation strengthens our ability to continue to implement efficiency improvements and cost reductions without compromising on our high safety and service standards. NUAC must therefore be run as a lean, efficient organisation that undertakes tasks for the parent companies using as few employees as possible. Other employees will be seconded to NUAC by the two parent companies.
On 1 January 2011, NUAC took over responsibility for operational support comprising approximately 160 employees on secondment from Naviair and LFV respectively. When NUAC takes over operation of the ATCCs in 2012-2013, more than 1,000 employees will be on secondment from the parent companies. Over time, NUAC’s activities will reduce the aviation industry’s ATM and fuel costs while at the same time reducing the airlines’ emissions of CO2 and NOX to the benefit of the environment.
